Born and raised in British Columbia, James Wiens’s artistic journey began early. After completing his formal education at Emily Carr College of Art & Design, he quickly gained recognition for his art and started his 30-year-long career in professional Canadian fine art.
With a focus on high realism and fine detail, James’ work is inspired by the beauty found in the natural world and the animals and objects within it.  From still-life to animal and horse paintings, his pieces capture the essence of his subjects in a way that makes them come to life. Through his work, he encourages viewers to appreciate and cherish the environment and creatures he paints, leaving them with a sense of hope and a deeper connection to the world around them.
James is represented by the Kurbatoff Gallery in Vancouver, British Columbia, the Gallery at Mattick’s Farm on Vancouver Island and the West End Gallery in Edmonton, Alberta.
