James Wiens is an avid lifelong outdoorsman, having grown up and settled in British Columbia surrounded by dramatic mountains and rivers.
His artwork, primarily oil painting, reflects his love of nature and landscapes. James studied at the Emily Carr College of Art & Design in Vancouver, earning a diploma in printmaking and painting. He is a 2-time winner of the Pacific Salmon Foundation Award, and his work has been featured by the B.C. Outdoors Magazine. It’s the act of painting that really inspires James, not so much the subject matter. His goal has always been to make beautiful art that as many people as possible can enjoy.
James has applied the work ethic he gained on his family farm to his 30-year full-time career as a professional artist. He is dedicated to his wife, children and close-knit extended family.
James is represented by the Kurbatoff Gallery in Vancouver, BC, Canada. For inquiries, originals and commissions please contact the gallery or James.
